Fall officially starts on Saturday and I’m so excited! Summer has always been my least favorite season. I do love all the fresh fruits and veggies that are in season in the summer and back in my school days I loved summer break but the stifling heat of summer is just too much for me. I’m usually ready for it to be over before it officially starts. So when the mornings and evenings start to get a little chilly I start to anticipate the coolness of fall.
Unfortunately, even though fall starts on Saturday, it’s still not cool enough for me. I went on a walk during my lunch break today and was very unpleasantly surprised that it still felt super hot and I was covered in sweat by the time I was done (sorry if that’s TMI for you). But I still have hope. I’ve already been able to turn off the air conditioning in my car in the morning (I do still have it on vent) and pretty soon I’ll be able to wear a jacket in the morning and evening and soon after that I’ll be able to transition to sweaters and scarves!
But don’t forget the best part of fall –the food! I love the warm flavors of fall –pumpkin, sweet potato, cranberry, cinnamon, apple, nutmeg, cloves! It’ll be a challenge to keep it all healthy but I’m definitely up for that challenge. Last night I made Gingered Sweet Potato Soup and Sweet Potato Chips –both were healthy and all natural and definitely delicious!
